Tomes of Buxton, based at the High Peak Garden Centre near Bamford in the Hope Valley, sells second-hand and antiquarian books, and has thousands of titles on a wide range of subjects. These include fiction, biography, education, science, transport, geography and travel.
The shop has a classics section, and sections on horror and crime fiction, as well as a good range of science fiction and fantasy books.
Tim Dudley, the bookseller, also has a kaleidoscopic knowledge of aircraft, cars and military topics.
Tomes shares the Picture Books shop with C Scapes, which sells framed local landscape photography, local turned wood, cards and gifts.
